Chardon Rotary plans ‘Display the Flag’

The Rotary Club of Chardon is offering residents and businesses in the Chardon School District an opportunity to become part of “Display the Flags” project.

This is an effort to foster community pride and to be a fundraiser that supports local and international education and health initiatives, according to a press release.

Beginning this Memorial Day weekend and continuing through November, the Rotary Club members will drill a hole on a participant’s property and install a US Americanmade flag. The flag will be installed a day or two before each of six holiday and removed to be stored a day or two after the holiday.

The 3-by-5-foot flag is attached to a 10-foot pole which is inserted into a base that has been previously installed. The lease price includes the base installation along with installing and removing the flag for each of six holidays.

The cost for the six holidays is $50 while a discount is available for fewer holidays.
