Scholarships available
• The Americans of Italian Heritage charities, Inc. has announced the scholarship program available to student residents of Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga, and Ashtabula counties. Four scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each will be awarded this year.
At least one parent of the applicant must be of Italian descent and the student applicant must be either a graduating high school senior or a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. The selection committee is seeking to award a wellrounded student who can demonstrate their dedication and commitment to continuing their education and who are in financial need. Copies of the application can be found at www.aihclub.com. Completed applications must be received by May 19, 2017.

• The Geauga County Retired Teachers Association has applications available for its Grant-inAid annual Financial Assistance Program to deserving college seniors. Applicants must be enrolled in the college of education, and be student teaching in the 20172018 academic year. In addition, interested persons must have resided in Geauga County or be a graduate of a Geauga County high school.
Completed applications for the $1,500 grants must be submitted by May 20, 2017. To obtain an application, contact the GCRTA website (www.gcrta.net) under Grant-in-Aid to download the on-line application. Award selections will be announced in July, and the presentations will be made in August at the annual GCRTA picnic.
• The Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a society of women educators in Geauga County is offering a grant-in-aid to a female student who is entering her senior year in college and is majoring in education.
The applicant must be a graduate of a Geauga County high school. The deadline for completed applications is July 17, 2017.
