Former Willoughby man sentenced for child porn

-

A former Willoughby man was sentenced May 18 for having child pornography on his computer while on probation for another crime involving a minor.

Kevin Boggs, 25, pleaded guilty in July 2015 to gross sexual imposition. In that case, he inappropriately touched a 10-year-old boy he was baby-sitting, Chief Assistant Lake County Prosecutor Karen Kowall said.

Boggs was sentenced in September 2015 to 120 days in Lake County Jail and five years of community control sanctions. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for 25 years.

As a condition of probation, Lake County Common Pleas Judge Eugene A. Lucci banned Boggs from using the internet. During that time, Boggs self-reported looking at child pornography and six confirmed images were found on his phone.

Today Lucci gave him 90 days in jail plus an additional 90 days to get a home, employment and counseling and an additional five years community control. Terms of probation include having a curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., maintain full time employment and/or school, get sex offender treatment, take prescribed medication and no internet or social media. If he violates any of the terms, he will be sent to prison for 78 months.

Last April, Boggs pleaded guilty to pandering obscenity involving a minor.

In both cases, he confessed to the crimes before

anyone found out about them, officials said.
