An Oakwood Village man is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault that occurred in downtown Willoughby.
According to Willoughby police, officers responded to the Citizens Bank parking lot about 2:30 a.m., May 21, for a fight in progress between several men and women.
As they arrived on the scene, a white Ford Fusion struck another vehicle in the parking lot twice.
As officers approached, the driver exited the car and fled on foot westbound to avoid apprehension.
Witnesses saw the man run toward Clark Avenue and Sharpe Avenue.
Bystanders told police the man in the Ford had been causing a disturbance inside a downtown Willoughby bar a few minutes earlier.
Officers located the suspect walking on Sharpe Avenue near the Domino’s Pizza. After a brief altercation, he was arrested, police said.
The suspect identified himself as Lorenzo Edwards to police, but the bystanders were familiar with him and told police his real name was Ronald Henry.
One of the bystanders told police she had been assaulted inside the bar and her car was intentionally struck by his Ford. Another victim allegedly was assaulted in the bank parking lot before police arrived on scene.
Henry was arrested on multiple charges, including OVI, driving with a suspended driver’s license, resisting arrest, obstruction of official business, criminal damage and two counts of assault. All of the charges were misdemeanors.
A pre-sentence hearing for Henry is scheduled for May 31 in Willoughby Municipal Court according to court records.
