Transit agency takes home more awards
Laketran is awarded for marketing and their communications strategies.
For Laketran, it’s not about the awards it keeps winning more than it’s a matter of where to put them.
After recently earning national recognition from the American Public Transportation Association, winning three first-place 2017 Adwheel Awards, the transit agency was recognized at the 2017 Lake Communicators APEX Awards May 18 ceremony, receiving six accolades: three gold, two silver and one bronze.
The APEX Awards honor local businesses for excellence and innovation in communications and marketing efforts, and are hosted annually by Lake Communicators, a local group of marketing and communications professionals. The awards are in their 12th year.
More than 70 entries were received from individual marketing professionals, local businesses, nonprofits and creative boutiques. Categories range from traditional print marketing and advertising to video, radio and digital marketing, including websites, online advertising and blogs.
According to a Laketran news release, the agency received gold in the Large Format: Wayfinding & Signage category for their Bus Stop redesign and Interior
Rack Cards.
Laketran was also awarded gold in the Collateral Literature category for their Real-Time Rider Tools door-hanger rack card.
The agency’s third gold award was given in the Community Relations category for the expanded partnership between Laketran and Lake County Board of DD/Deepwood.
For Outdoor Advertising, Laketran’s Park-n-Ride Next Exit Billboard received a silver award, the release stated. Laketran used its new electronic billboard, located about a half mile east of the Lloyd Road exit on Route 2 in Wickliffe, to encourage
drivers commuting into Cleveland to try Laketran’s Wickliffe Park-n-Ride.
Laketran’s other silver award was in the Digital Media: Website category, for the new Laketran.com website launched in June of 2016. With over 50 percent of traffic on Laketran.com originating from mobile devices, Laketran’s new responsive site allows schedules, real-time rider tools, paratransit information, fare purchasing and rider alerts to be prominently displayed on desktop or mobile devices.
Laketran’s bronze award was in the Social Media category for their #LaketrantheLand
– Cavs Championship Parade Campaign. With less than 72 hours between the Cleveland Cavaliers winning the NBA Championship and a championship parade that drew over 1.3 million people to downtown Cleveland in June of last year, Laketran put together a social media campaign announcing special Laketran Parkn-Ride service to downtown Cleveland. With over 11,000 website visits, 1,000 calls to customer service and social media engagement upward of 10,000 in one day, Laketran successfully operated 13,000 passenger trips on June 22.
