Blaze Pizza announces opening
Free pizza day to be offered to social media users
The wait is almost over. Blaze Pizza opens to the public at 11 a.m., July 11 at 9571 Mentor Ave. in Mentor
The location, in the renovated Radio Shack spot in Creekside Commons, will also host a “free pizza day” from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., July 12.
“Anyone who likes Blaze Pizza on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat will get a free 11-inch pizza with any toppings,” said Rachel Bledsoe Albritton, a representative of Blaze Pizza Midwest.
The “fast-fired” pies normally go for less than $8 apiece, regardless of toppings.
“Blaze Pizza is a fast-casual pizza concept that specializes in build-your-own pizzas,” Albritton said. “You go down the line, pick
your toppings from a variety of meats, cheeses, veggies and sauces, and the ‘pizzasmiths’ cook your 11inch personal pizza in under 3 minutes.”
This will be the Pasadena, California-based chain’s second location in Northeast Ohio. The nearest is in Canton.
The Mentor site will include an outdoor patio with seating for 26 patrons, with room for more than 50 inside. The stores typically employ six to 12 people per shift.
The hours of operation
are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday.
Blaze Pizza may have particular significance for Northeast Ohioans as Lebron James is the national spokesman and owns 17 of the franchises, according to Forbes.com.
He has no financial ties to the Mentor franchisee, Albritton said.
The Mentor project was approved by the city’s planning commission in October. The commission gave its assent after the developer agreed to reimage the facade of the entire building in which the pizza shop is located, rather than just the easterly portion.
