City to hold food, music and nature weekend

The city of Eastlake will hold a nature weekend to get kids and residents out to the enjoy the city.

The food, music and nature weekend will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 16 and will feature East Coast Custard, Slyman’s Tavern, Get Stuffed and Touch Supper Club food trucks. The band Whiskey Moon will play live music from the ’50s and ’60’s.

WINT Integrity Radio will have a prize wheel at the event from 2 p.m. through 6 p.m.

More than 40 businesses and organizati­ons from Eastlake will be on hand with free handouts and promotiona­l items.

Batman, along with other superheroe­s and mascots, will make an appearance and pose for photos with the kids.

Tours of the historical cabin behind Eastlake City Hall will be given by the Eastlake Historical Society and kids can get a photo with George Washington.

A presentati­on on Eastlake’s military history also will take place behind City Hall at 2 p.m.

The Chagrin River Watershed Partners, in conjunctio­n with Ohio Department of Natural Resources, will be offering a free canoe float at noon and 2 p.m. July 16, and again on July 17 at 4 and 6 p.m.

Kids will be able to fish for free during a casting demonstrat­ion and contest with prizes from the Chagrin River Salmon Associatio­n.
