Health and Wellness Fair: New Promise Church, 8671 Euclid-Chardon Road in Kirtland, will host a Health and Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 5. There will be school backpacks and supplies, children’s haircuts, dental services, vision screening, pharmacy, food, and education booths on how to improve your health. This free event is available to those who are unemployed, underemplo­yed or just in need of these services. Children must be present to receive backpacks and school supplies. Pianists to perform: Nationally recognized pianists will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township. St. Peter Juilan Eymard honored: St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights, will host a triduum July 31-Aug. 2 in honor of Saint Peter Julian Eymard. Saint Peter Julian Eymard, SSS was a French Catholic priest and founder of the congregati­on of the Blessed Sacrament order that serves Saint Paschal Baylon Church. The schedule includes a novena to Saint Peter Julian Eymard at 7 p.m. July 31; a Taize’ Prayer Holy Hour, at 7 p.m., Aug. 1; and Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m.; Aug. 2. Mayfield United Methodist Church, 7747 Mayfield Road, Chester Township, will host the Battle of the Bands, from 7 to 9 p.m., Aug. 12 at the church. It doesn’t matter what type of music you play, as long as you come and play it. It is open for any high school students who have a band to rock out against other band. There will be food, games, contests, prizes, a feature newspaper article, and more. Winning band(s) will receive music gear, cash, and other prizes. Golf outing: Chardon United Methodist Church will host a Golf Outing, beginning at 9 a.m., Aug. 24, at St. Denis Golf Club, 10660 Chardon Road, Chardon Township. The shot gun start will be at 10 a.m. with a scramble format. Individual golfer entry fee is $110 and registered foursome entry fee is $400. Tickets include green fees for 18 holes, golf cart, use of the practice green and driving range prior to start, non-alcoholic beverages, lunch at the turn, fajita dinner bar, chips and salsa at tables and dessert trays.
