Collateral damage of higher minimum wage

The minimum wage is in the news. Legislation to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2024 has been introduced by congressional Democrats.

Dictated by those who never flipped a burger, likely never held a job, certainly never ran a business, never had to deal with a balance sheet and never created employment for anyone. Leftist do-gooders who pride themselves on giving away money — other people’s money — not their own. The likes of Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

They do not understand that wages are a pass-through proposition. Burger flippers do not hoard their money, they spend it. Force their wages to the magic $15 per hour, and guess who is watching. The bottom feeders.

They are those who are too stupid or lazy to mine the mines or farm the farms, so they mine the miners and farm the farmers. They are the slum landlords, used car crooks, neighborhood merchants, lottery outlets, saloon keepers, liquor store owners, tattoo artists, and check cashers. And they do not know nor do they care who the “fifteeners” are. Everyone pays their increased prices. Collateral damage.
