Flea market: Auburn Community Church, 11076 Washington St., Chagrin Falls, will host a flea market 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 5. Rain date is Aug. 12. A wide variety of vendors are participat­ing. Glitter tattoos and a modern version of the toy “slime” will be available. The church will feature “flea” tables of its own. Food and beverages will be available. While this is a fundraiser for the church, it will also be a community event where one can visit with friends and neighbors. Health and Wellness Fair:

New Promise Church, 8671 Euclid-Chardon Road in Kirtland, will host a Health and Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 5. There will be school backpacks and supplies, children’s haircuts, dental services, vision screening, pharmacy, food, and education booths on how to improve your health. This free event is available to those who are unemployed, underemplo­yed or just in need of these services. Children must be present to receive backpacks and school supplies. Vendors sought: St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chester Township is calling for vendors to participat­e in the St. Mark indoor sale Sept. 8-9 at the church, 11900 Chillicoth­e Road, Chester Township. Saint Peter Julian Eymard, SSS was a French Catholic priest and founder of the congregati­on of the Blessed Sacrament order that serves Saint Paschal Baylon Church. The schedule includes a novena to Saint Peter Julian Eymard at 7 p.m. July 31; a Taize’ Prayer Holy Hour, at 7 p.m., Aug. 1; and Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m.; Aug. 2. Mayfield United Methodist Church, 7747 Mayfield Road, Chester Township, will host the Battle of the Bands, from 7 to 9 p.m., Aug. 12 at the church. It doesn’t matter what type of music you play, as long as you come and play it. It is open for any high school students who have a band to rock out against other band. There will be food, games, contests, prizes, a feature newspaper article, and more. Winning band(s) will receive music gear, cash, and other prizes. Golf outing: Chardon United Methodist Church will host a Golf Outing, beginning at 9 a.m., Aug. 24, at St. Denis Golf Club, 10660 Chardon Road, Chardon Township. The shot gun start will be at 10 a.m. with a scramble format. Individual golfer entry fee is $110 and registered foursome entry fee is $400. Robot Academy: Robot Academy VBS at Mentor Baptist Church, 7500 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Mentor, will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 31 through Aug. 4. Wheels for the World, a program by nonprofit Joni and Friends, is hosting a drive for used wheelchair­s from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12. Donate used manual wheelchair­s at the St. Noel Church parking lot, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible and receipts are available. Please no walkers, canes, crutches or electric wheelchair­s. The wheelchair­s will be sent to inmates at correction­al facilities to restore them. The wheelchair­s are then donated to children and adults affected by disability worldwide. Each wheelchair recipient receives a custom-fit wheelchair and training in use and upkeep.
