Ronny Rodriguez and Nellie Rodriguez hit home runs to lead the Triple-A Clippers to a 10-1 win over visiting Indianapolis. The Clippers (59-51) ripped 17 hits in the game. Daniel Robertson had four and both Rodriguezes had three. Abraham Almonte doubled twice. Jarrett Grube (5-5) pitched seven innings of two-hit ball to pick up the pitching win.
Joe Sever’s walkoff single with two outs in the ninth inning scored Mike Papi, giving the Double-A RubberDucks a 5-4 win over visiting Hartford. Papi had a pair of hits for Akron (5355), while Eric Haase drove in a pair. Jordan Milbrath pitched three scoreless innings in relief, while Leandro Linares picked up the win despite blowing a save in the top of the ninth.
Brock Hartson and two relievers combined on a fourhitter as the High-A Hillcats blanked visiting Down East Wood, 1-0. Hartson pitched seven scoreless, while Luke Eubank and Argenis Angulo (14 saves) pitched one each. The Hillcats (64-46) got their only run in the fifth when Claudio Bautista hit a solo home run, his third of the season.
The visiting Scrappers scored eight times in the top of the 10th inning for a 15-7 win over Auburn in short-season play. The Scrappers (26-17) clubbed out 23 hits in the game, 19 of which were singles. Eight different batters had at least two hits, with Simeon Lucas and Will Benson each collecting four.
