Lake Catholic High School names new president
Mark M. Crowley has been appointed as the new president of Lake Catholic High School in Mentor.
Crowley takes over the position that was held by interim President Richard J. Osborne, following the retirement of Sal Miroglotta in March 2017, according to an Aug. 4 news release from the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.
Crowley is a 1976 graduate of St. Joseph High School, as well as a graduate of Northeastern University with a bachelor of science and Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management with a master’s of business administration.
His career has been spent in marketing and communication.
“His creativity, vision and strategic leadership have strengthened businesses, including KeyCorp and National City, the Sherwin Williams Co., and most recently, Materion Corp., where he served as director of communication,” the release stated.
Crowley’s wife Lea is a Lake Catholic alumna and their five children also attended the school.
Crowley has been an active supporter of the school for decades, the release stated.
“Mark is the right leader at the right time for Lake Catholic High School,” said Frank O’Linn, diocesan associate superintendent for secondary schools, in the release. “His collaborative and inclusive leadership will build on the strong tradition of excellence and further the mission to form young people in the love of knowledge, love of persons and love of God.”
Lake Catholic Principal Robert Kumazec said in the release that he’s looking forward to working with Crowley.
“He has a deep connection to our school, and a reputation for serving others,” Kumazec said. “I am confident he will work diligently to make personal connections with our families and build bridges to the greater community.”
According to Crowley, it’s an exciting time to be part of Lake Catholic, which is approaching its 50th anniversary and just celebrated its 10,000th student graduating.
“Lake Catholic has a strong alumni community that is second to none,” Crowley said in the release. “I look forward to being an instrumental part that connects with their passion, loyalty and love of the school.”
