Monthly luncheon: The Lake County Christian Women’s Connection of Lake County, affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries, will present the monthly luncheon featuring fellowship and fun with music and inspiration from Lorraine Serra, Stonecroft Ministries speaker. “From a Hard Day’s Night to... A NEW BEGINNING” will be presented at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 15, at Pine Ridge Country Club 30601 Ridge Road, Wickliffe. Vendors sought: St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chester Township is calling for vendors to participate in the St. Mark indoor sale Sept. 8-9 at the church, 11900 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Donations for the sale are also being accepted (no clothing or large pieces of furniture). Proceeds will benefit the local and worldwide missions as

Caring Christian women invited: The Christ Child Society of the Western Reserve is looking for caring Christian women to attend an Informational Coffee at 1 p.m. Sept. 8. in St. Gabriel’s Church community room. Women of faith who would like an opportunity to broaden friendships while serving the needs of the children of Lake County will want to attend (registration is required). Mayfield United Methodist Church, 7747 Mayfield Road, Chester Township, will host the Battle of the Bands, from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12 at the church. The event is open to any high school students who have a band to rock out against other band. There will be food, games, contests, prizes, and more. Golf outing: Chardon United Methodist Church will host a golf outing, beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 24, at St. Denis Golf Club, 10660 Chardon Road, Chardon Township. The shot gun start will be at 10 a.m. with a scramble format. Individual golfer entry fee is $110, and registered foursome entry fee is $400. Tickets include green fees for 18 holes, golf cart, use of the practice green and driving range prior to start, nonalcoholic beverages, lunch at the turn, fajita dinner bar, chips and salsa at tables and dessert trays. Wheels for the World, a program by nonprofit Joni and Friends, is hosting a drive for used wheelchairs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12. Donate used manual wheelchairs at the St. Noel Church parking lot, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible and receipts are available. Please no walkers, canes,
crutches or electric wheelchairs. The wheelchairs will be sent to inmates at correctional facilities to restore them to like-new condition. The wheelchairs are then donated to children and adults worldwide. Each wheelchair recipient receives a custom-fit wheelchair and training in use and upkeep.
