Last Stop festival set for Aug. 19

The 10th annual Last Stop Willoughby will take place Aug. 19.

Heart of Willoughby will hold the event which is sponsored by Adventure Auto Group, First Interstate Properties, and other local businesses in downtown Willoughby.

The festival will feature free activities for the family with event beginning with the outdoor market from 8 a.m. to noon. According to a media release, there will be over 50 vendors present with fresh produce, bread, pastries, cookies, locally raised beef and pork, plants, dog treats and coffee in addition to a variety of specialty vendors.

Free trolley rides are available from noon to 5 p.m. with boarding taking place on River Street near the clock tower in front of City Hall. Trolley rides will include a narrated tour of the historic areas in downtown Willoughby.

There will be a kids’ zone featuring arts and crafts and face painting in Pointe Park and music in the gazebo.

Also featured will be a model train layout by Trains at Your Place around the fountain which will allow kids the opportunit­y to operate a train.

A train layout created entirely of Legos will be on display in the lower level of the newly renovated library, courtesy of the Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library.

The annual parade will start at 2 p.m. at South High School and proceed down Euclid Avenue into downtown Willoughby. Parade participan­ts with decorated floats are eligible for a cash prize.

Continuous screenings of The Twilight Zone episode “A stop at Willoughby” will be happening at the library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
