The Gray Riders of Ohio Motor Cycle Association will once again be holding its annual dice run to benefit the Eastlake Police Activities League.

The event, to be held Aug. 12, is the biggest fundraising event of the year for E-PAL and provides substantial funding for the program, according to Eastlake Council member and E-Pal Director of Operations Kimberly Evers.

“This money helps us get through the year,” Evers previously said. “The money goes to support not only E-PAL, but the community, because it keeps the center open for the community. The building is also used for voting, blood drives, and as a disaster area building for Lake County.”

The event, which is open to the public and held rain or shine, starts with breakfast and registration at 9 a.m. at the E-PAL Center, 600 E. 349th St.

The cost to participate is $15 per car or bike, and $5 for each passenger.

The event last year raised over $20,000, and Evers is hopeful this year to it raise $35,000.

It is not required to participate in the dice run to attend the event which will feature many other activities and prizes, including a bike raffle for a 2017 Harley Davidson 883 Iron from Western Reserve Harley Davidson or $4,000 cash. Tickets for the bike raffle are $10 a ticket. There will be the opportunity to win a wheel barrel full of liquor, along a large Chinese auction.

Some of the auctions items include a variety of donations from local Wickliffe, Willoughby and Mentor small businesses as well as prize packages from Cleveland sports teams, Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park, Goodtime III and Western Reserve Harley Davidson.

Those participating in the dice run have the opportunity to win additional prizes, such as $400 for the highest dice roll and $200 for the lowest roll.

For the first time, Dice Run T-shirts are available for purchase at $8 a shirt. There is a limit of 200 shirts available.
