Three Lake County men have been indicted for their alleged roles in a suspected attempted drive-by shooting in Madison Township.

The incident reportedly happened around 2 a.m. Feb. 20 in the 6100 block of North Ridge Road.

At least one man in the defendants’ vehicle reportedly used a rifle or shotgun to fire at another vehicle, which was occupied by four people. Nobody was hit by the gunfire, Madison Township police said previously.

Three occupants in the suspect vehicle — 18-yearold Sean Durkee of Perry Village, 20-year-old Justin Green of North Perry Village and 19-year-old Jason Harman of Perry Township — were all arrested in a traffic stop after a 911 caller reported the incident along with a vehicle description.

Each defendant has been charged with four counts of felonious assault — one count for each potential victim.

According to the indictment filed Aug. 11 in Lake County Common Pleas Court:

Each defendant used or possessed a 12-gauge shotgun to try and cause physical harm to four other men.

Durkee also faces two counts of tampering with evidence and one count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Harman also faces one count each of tampering with evidence and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Green has three additional charges — two counts of intimidation of an attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case and one count of violating a protection order.

Green attempted to influence or intimidate one of the potential victims not to file criminal charges, the indictment stated.

Each defendant previously posted bond.

Harman and Durkee originally were charged with attempted murder.
