• Triple-A Columbus erupted for eight runs in the sixth inning and cruised past Louisville, 10-1. The Clippers (70-69) scored on Mike Papi’s two-run single, Eric Haase’s two-run home run, Michael Martinez’s two-run double, a throwing error and Tyler Naquin’s RBI single. • Luigi Rodriguez’s threerun double keyed a fiverun seventh as Double-A Akron beat Erie, 7-5. The RubberDucks (67-70) overcame a 4-2 deficit in the inning. Dorssys Paulino led off with a triple and scored on a passed ball and Daniel Salters tied the game with a fielder’s choice. • Mayfield graduate Mitch Longo and Connor Marabell collected four hits apiece as High-A Lynchburg pounded Wilmington 13-4. Longo reached base in all five of his plate appearances, and scored five runs. Marabell drove in four runs and Cervenka sent another three home to lead the Hillcats (8452) offensive onslaught. Longo was promoted to Lynchburg from Low-A Lake County on Aug. 31 and is 7-for-8 in his two games with the Hillcats. • Miguel Eladio’s seventh home run broke a tie game in the seventh to lift LowA Lake County to a 3-2 victory over Lansing. The Captains (53-83) won their final home game of the season. Alsis Herrera allowed a run and struck out three in three innings to earn his fifth win. Dalbert Siri pitched a clean ninth for his 13th save. • Will Benson hit a decisive solo home run in the eighth inning to lift shortseason Mahoning Valley over State College, 2-1. Benson’s eighth home run broke a 1-1 tie for the Scrappers (40-29). Felix Tati (7-3) allowed one hit and struck out three in the game’s final four innings to pick up the victory.
