Two-car fatal crash under investigation

The crash happened on Munn Road at the intersection of Bartholomew Road in Auburn Township.

The Chardon Highway Patrol Post is investigating a two vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred at approximately 2:57 p.m. Sunday, according to a press release from the post.

The release states that Haley Dreslinski, 17, of Streetsboro, was traveling west in a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt on Bartholomew Road. Susan Conover, 69, of Aurora, was traveling south on Munn Road in a 2007 Ram pickup truck.

Witnesses say that the Cobalt stopped at the stop sign, then pulled out in front of the Ram pickup as it entered the intersection. The Cobalt was struck in the passenger side, and both vehicles traveled off the right side of Munn Road into the ditch, the release states.

Deborah Dreslinski, 63, of Streetsboro, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the passenger of the Cobalt. She was the mother of the driver, Haley. Haley was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Susan Conover was transported to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.

Drugs and alcohol, as well as cell phone use do not appear to be factors in the traffic crash, according to the report.

Both drivers and passenger were wearing their seatbelts, the report states. The traffic crash remains under investigation.
