Information about the Wickliffe School District Reconfiguration can now be accessed online on its website.

Superintendent Joseph Spiccia said he wanted to make sure information was being effectively communicated to the public.

On the main page, under the About Us menu, lies a is a new tab to view information about the district reconfiguration. Updates, timelines and background information on the plan can be found.

In the 2018-19 school year, the district is transitioning from three buildings to two.

The current middle school will be converted to a K-6 building and the current high school to a 7-12 facility.

Spiccia said the district is working with architectural firm CT Consultants to assist with the reconfiguration.

Additionally, he is inviting community members to participate in a Community Facilities Team meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 20 in the Robert M. Smith Professional Development Center.

“Part of the transition plan includes forming a team of community members to provide input about the transition,” Spiccia said in a letter on the website. “The team will meet once a month and will address issues related to the transition including progress reports related to building changes/upgrades, community communication plans, project timeline

and data related to transition.”

If interested in participating in the Community Facilities Team meeting, call the superintendent’s office at 440-943-6900 by Sept. 15.

Besides the Community Facilities Team, Staff Facilities Team meetings will also begin in September to discuss the needs of facilities from an educator standpoint.

Meanwhile, CT Consultants continue to evaluate the facilities to determine what physical changes need to be made.

The Fit Study, which is a detailed assessment, should be completed by December and the Site Development Plan is projected to be done by late December to January.

The district has made the history, plans and data are more accessible on the website, and Spiccia said they plan to update it often with current information.

He said he wants to ensure that the community is informed every step of the way.
