Harvey A. Sussel
Harvey Sussel was born April 26, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 27, 2017 in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Harvey graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and attended The Ohio State University. Together with his parents, Lil and Charlie Sussel, they built Mayland Lanes which became one of the most successful bowling centers in Ohio.
Harvey was an entrepreneur, advenlife, turer, and leader throughout his owning Mayland Lanes, Eastgate Coliseum, and Campus Pizza while living in Cleveland and a video store and a mediHe cal transport company after relocating to Florida in 1996. was a licensed and certified boat captain and a mempilot ber of the Chagrin River, Mentor Harbor, and Captains Yacht Clubs, the International Order of Blue Gavel (President), and Masonic Lodge No.731.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved parents; loving wife and partner in life, Bonnie Lechner; and granddaughter, Brianna Sussel.
Harvey is survived by his devoted children, Jeffrey Sussel, Michelle Goss (Dean), Raymond Sussel (Regina Olbinsky), Cherie Lechner-Lunato (Ross), James Lechner (Denise); and grandchildren, Leeland (Katie), Jeremy, Cory, Adam, and Austin Sussel; Zack and Ben Goss; Emily Olbinsky Garforth, and Jesse Lunato.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Berkowitz Kumin Bookatz, 1985 S. Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights. (Webcasting: www.bitly.com/largechaCemetery, pel) Interment immediately following at Mt. Olive 27855 Aurora Rd, Solon.
The family will receive friends immediately following interCleveland, ment at Landerhaven, 6111 Landerhaven Drive, OH until 6:30 p.m. as well as Monday and Tuesday, October 2 and 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sussel Residence, 34353 Bramble Lane, Solon.
