Mathew Benjamin Dolezal, 37, of West Farmington, passed away Monday, OcWarren, tober 2, 2017. He was born in OH on December 5, 1979. Mathew is the son of Lori (Brown) Rea and Mark and Patti Dolezal. He attended Auburn Career Center in the Allied Health Program and graduated from Cardinal High School in 1998; marrying Sara Lynch on October 30th that same year.

Mathew enlisted in the U.S. Army as a senior and went on to become a Comtrainin­g bat Medic. He completed basic at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and then his Medic training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. He was permanentl­y stationed at Fort Campbell, KY with the 101st Airborne Division. After leaving the Army he graduated from the Eastern Kentucky University Police Academy, and served as a Police Officer in Guthrie and Cadiz, KY. He was also a Kentucky Realtor.

He loved being outdoors, and w as an avid deer and tur - key hunter ever since getting his first buckk at the the age of 11. He and his father hiked Mt. Shasta in California to trace his grandfathe­r’s (Buck Dolezal) steps who climbed it while in the Civil Conservati­on Corps. He loved collecting guns and spending time with friends and family. Mathew was always ready to help a friend in need and he will be greatly missed by all.

Mathew is survived by: loving wife of 19 years, Sara; father, Mark (Patti McNish) Dolezal; mother, Lori (Bob) Rea; brother, Michael (Sarah Hawkins) Dolezal; nieces and nephews, Flora, Andrew and Brendan Dolezal and MacKenzie, Henley, Hendrik & Willem Wolfert; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends and family will be received from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 9 at Christ Covenant Church, 16406 Kinsman Rd., in Middlefiel­d with Rev. Mike Southern officiatin­g; refreshmen­ts at the church to follow. Internment to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in Mathew’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Geauga Dog Shelter.
