Apollo Project takes to the streets through partnership
Avery Dennison’s collaboration with park system raising awareness of outreach program
Eye-catching images of Lake Metroparks’ bald eagle ambassador, Apollo, will be seen on roads throughout Lake County and beyond, thanks to a collaboration between label and graphics manufacturer Avery Dennison and Lake Metroparks.
According to a Lake Metroparks news release, a trailer which carries materials for the Apollo Project education program has been adorned with wrap featuring Avery Dennison graphics materials and a design highlighting birds of prey.
“This application of Avery Dennison’s expertise in display graphics will raise public awareness of the unique Apollo Project that Lake Metroparks offers to area schools,” said Lake Metroparks Executive Director Paul Palagyi.
Launched in May, Project Apollo aims to educate the public about the history of the American bald eagle. The program travels to schools for daylong sessions highlighting the eagle’s natural history, near extinction and comeback.
The program also includes up-close encounters with Apollo and other Lake Metroparks birds of prey, allowing students to learn more about the eagle’s adaptations by visiting seven interactive stations with hands-on activities, the release stated.
Lake Metroparks and Avery Dennison worked together to promote the program via the trailer wrap. Avery Dennison manufactures vinyl graphics material for vehicle wraps, architectural design and signage at its Painesville Township manufacturing plant.
“Our graphics materials are used to help brands and organizations connect with people throughout the world,” said Paul Roba, original equipment manufacturer relationship manager, Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions. “We are happy that our material can be a colorful medium to help share Apollo’s story and promote the important education work done by Lake Metroparks.”
