Four area teams in final grid state poll

Four area teams were ranked by the Associated Press in the final AP football poll of the season.

In Division I, Mentor (9-1) was voted sixth. The Cardinals piled up 106 voting points, trailing poll champ St. Ignatius (18 first-place votes, 216 voting points) and four others.

Also earning votes in Division I was Euclid (8-2). The Panthers were 12th with 12 voting points.

In Division IV, Perry finished the polling season as the thirdranke­d team with two first-place votes an 153 voting points. The Pirates trailed poll champ Steubenvil­le (17, 201) and Germantown Valley View (3, 180).

In Division VI, Kirtland was the poll runner-up to poll champ Maria Stein Marion Local. The Hornets garnered one first-place vote and 182 voting points, trailing the Flyers’ 18 first-place votes and 203 voting points.
