PLASTIC SURGERY
Q: How do you help me decide things for breast augmentation? A: Because breast implants are a lifetime decision, it seems best from every standpoint to place the incision in the inframammary fold. If you ever should need a re-operative intervention, the inframammary fold incision provides the best overall access for improving any outcome that may occur over the lifetime with your implants. In terms of discrete scar, a properly formulated inframammary fold scar with subcuticular closure will provide you an incredibly minimalistic surgery. The way to proceed with you is to first do a careful clinical examination and then do base width measurements. I like to utilize actual implants with you in a bra as well as a T shirt so that you can get an assessment of your overall figure as well as the appearance in multiple views of your chest shape, morphology, projection and overall aesthetic. I term this custom sizing so that you can obtain the best view of your situation pre-operatively. The ultimate goal is so that when you are post-op you will be satisfied with the decision making and the choices we made together at the time of consultation. Very likely the consultative process will help you develop your opinions and make you very happy once I perform the surgery on you. After I perform your surgery I incorporate Sciton broadband light laser into the recovery sequence. I usually laser your scar starting at one or two months post-operatively to reduce any red or brown scarring that may occur based upon your skin type. It does not matter your ethnicity. Sciton laser can improve your scar morphology. I carefully review with you scar manage- ment so that by the time you are a few months post op your scar is nearly imperceptible as my patients will attest. I look forward to your inquiry about this circumstance and will help you in your decision making.
