Assimilation made the United States great
The diversity immigration visa lottery program is alive and well in the United States. It is not likely to be abolished because “diversity” is a sacred mantra of liberals and their ultimate panacea to eliminate social injustice.
“Diversity is what made our country great” is a common phrase used by proponents of globalization and unlimited immigration.
They ignore historical facts and are not the least bit interested in making our country great.
It is the “assimilation” of people with diverse ethnic, racial, religious and cultural origins that made this country great by sharing a common constitution, a common allegiance to one nation and the willingness to share a common language.
To liberals, diversity represents “pluralism,” a state of society in which members of diverse ethnic, racial, religious, cultural and other special interest groups maintain an autonomous participation in and the development of their traditional culture or special interest groups, within the confines of a common civilization.
Pluralism is the antithesis of assimilation.
In a pluralistic society, there is no requirement or encouragement to become citizens, to give national allegiance or to learn the English language.
Assimilation enhances nationalism and nationalism is one of the chief obstacles to the success of international communism.
This obstacle is easily removed by creating open borders and unlimited immigration within the United States and the western countries of Europe.
We are distracted by the threat of terrorism from “radical Muslim” fanatics, but the more insidious threat to our survival as a free, sovereign, nation comes from within our own country. Richard Koss Wickliffe
