Chardon resident completes internship
Chardon resident Chandler Walnsch, a senior economics major at Ashland University, completed an internship with Guardian Technologies LLC in Euclid. This internship was under the supervision of the organization’s marketing manager, Mariana Polomsky.
He is the son Ronald and Lori Walnsch of Chardon and is a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin.
He explained Guardian Technologies is a company that sells home air purifiers to help enhance people’s health. While working at Guardian Technologies, one of Walnsch’s responsibilities as an intern was analyzing data they received from Amazon and using the data to enhance their sales without spending more money. Something major that he accomplished was performing research on the fan and heater industry in order for Guardian Technologies to expand their business.
Walnsch said, “I personally learned the skills that are required to be a successful business analyst. This internship allowed me to make real business decisions based on the real world data I had access to.”
Walnsch believed his classes at AU taught him the vocabulary so often used in a business setting.
“Understanding the vocabulary used in a business setting allowed me to professionally communicate with my fellow coworkers in a meeting or through email in a way that was effective and correct, ” Walnsch said.
