Local students earn scholarshi­p at JCU

John Carroll University has named 52 incoming freshmen natiowide to its prestigiou­s Honors Program, including students from local communitie­s. Each of the students selected for the program receives a $5, 000 annual merit scholarshi­p.

More than 325 highly qualified students applied for the distinguis­hed program.

In addition to the annual scholarshi­p and priority course registrati­on status, incoming members of the Honors Program also receive the following benefits:

Honors Program Book Award: Costs are covered for all textbooks in required Honors courses.

Honors Pathway Award: Up to $3, 000 will be awarded for engaging in experienti­al learning during sophomore or junior year.

Honors Capstone Award: $1, 500 awarded after the final Honors Program requiremen­t is completed.

An opportunit­y to be part of a living-learning community with other stu- dents in Signature Programs (Leadership Scholars and Arrupe Scholars).
