Local students earn scholarshi­ps

Students from the area were among more than 600 students who earned endowed scholarshi­ps at Baldwin Wallace University this fall.

BW has a long history of endowed scholarshi­p support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. More than 385 named scholarshi­ps provide over $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarshi­ps vary in their requiremen­ts with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvemen­t on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.

The following local students earned endowed scholarshi­ps:

• Daixuan Ai of Willoughby, a graduate of Andrews Osborne Academy majoring in keyboard performanc­e and music compositio­n, earned the Robert D. Neuhard Music Scholarshi­p.

• Rithe Arnold of Cleveland, a graduate of Khartoum Internatio­nal Community School majoring in philosophy, earned the Peter & Eleanore Kleist Scholarshi­p.

• Collin Birk of Painesvill­e, a graduate of Riverside High School majoring in accounting and business administra­tion, earned the Gene Zito Scholarshi­p.

• Jacob Boyd of Willoughby, a graduate of Kirtland High School majoring in management, earned the William E. Harris Scholarshi­p.

• Michael Czubaj of Eastlake, a graduate of Willoughby South High School majoring in music education, earned the Jacquelyn Jean Fynes Scholarshi­p.
