Students participat­e in Greek life

The following students joined a fraternity or sorority at the University of Mount Union:

• Madison Priestap of Jefferson joined Alpha Xi Delta sorority. The Gamma chapter of Alpha Xi Delta, founded at the University in 1902, is a nationally-recognized sorority chapter for women based upon the values of friendship, lifelong learning and pursuit of personal excellence.

• Grace Rosenbaum of Chester Township joined Alpha Xi Delta sorority. The Gamma chapter of Alpha Xi Delta, founded at the University in 1902, is a nationally-recognized sorority chapter for women based upon the values of friendship, lifelong learning and pursuit of personal excellence.

• Amy Bowens, of Mentor, joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Founded at the University in 1948, the Gamma Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is a nationally-recognized chapter of the sorority for women who value character, high scholastic attainment, friendship and contributi­ons to the campus and community.

• Rebecca D’Orazio of Kirtland joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Founded at the University in 1948, the Gamma Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is a nationally-recognized chapter of the sorority for women who value character, high scholastic attainment, friendship and contributi­ons to the campus and community.

• Jacob Barton of Madison joined Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Alpha Tau Omega, a Greek-letter organizati­on for men, was founded on Mount Union’s campus in 1882.

• Austin Klatik of Middlefiel­d joined Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Alpha Tau Omega, a Greek-letter organizati­on for men, was founded on Mount Union’s campus in 1889.

• Robert Ranallo of Willoughby joined Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. The mission of Phi Kappa Tau, a social Greek-letter organizati­on for men, is to champion a lifelong commitment to brotherhoo­d, learning, ethical leadership and exemplary character.

Fraterniti­es and sororities provide students with opportunit­ies for leadership, philanthro­py, community service, friendship­s and more. Formal recruitmen­t takes place in the fall each year, where students have the opportunit­y to learn about Greek life and see if they find a “home away from home.” Twenty-seven percent of students at Mount Union participat­e in fraternity or sorority life.
