Fairmount Center for Arts dancers perform
Over 1,000 theatergoers gathered to witness the dancers as they performed at Playhouse Square.
Fairmount Center for the Arts dancers performed at the Connor Palace Theatre at Playhouse Square on Nov. 17. Over 1,000 theatergoers gathered to witness the culmination of the immense dedication of the talented Fairmount dancers as they performed on the stage of many Broadway icons.
“Autumn Celebration” was an exciting and energizing evening, spearheaded by the Fairmount Center for the Arts’ new Chairman Matthew P. Figgie.
“This evening was an opportunity for me to personally thank and warmly distinguish the most wonderful and supportive parents, awesome students and amazing instructors for their hard work, dedication and commitment,” Figgie said.
Also Chairman of ClarkReliance, Figgie Capital and the Figgie Foundation, Figgie went on to say, “The sincere and heartfelt gift from The Figgie Foundation in loving memory of my Grandma Nancy Figgie was an incredibly wonderful opportunity to observe the dedicated and accomplished Fairmount Dancers exhibiting their very best, while performing on this nationally acclaimed stage.”
This evening was also a jubilee, honoring the outstanding recognition as Cleveland Magazine’s 2017 ‘Best of East’ distinction.
“The Fairmount Center for the Arts is truly a gem, filled with the most talented instructors and students, and offers the very best of Art, Dance, Music, Theatre and Fitness,” said Figgie. “As the new chairman, I am so very humbled, privileged and quite honored to collaborate with the utmost talent to continue to enhance the Fairmount Center for the Arts’ success as a regional crown jewel of performing arts.”
The School of Dance at Fairmount Center is where individual students develop dance technique along with healthy, disciplined bodies, creative minds, and an indepth knowledge and appreciation of dance as an art form. The faculty at the Fairmount School of Dance strives to create a nurturing and focused environment where dancers are supported to develop their potential as technicians, artists and young adults.
Fairmount Center for the Arts is located at 8400 Fairmount Road in Russell Township. For more than four decades, this organization has provided thousands of Geauga and Cuyahoga County residents the opportunity to explore the arts by offering classes, workshops, community performances, and opportunities for individual expression. Fairmount offers programs in five major areas: Art, Dance, Music, Theatre and Fitness.
