Students to participate in leadership camp
Perry Schools welcomes Tim Kight, founder and president of Focus 3, to its Goodwin Theatre from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 4 for a free leadership camp presentation, “Pursuing Greatness through Leadership and Culture.”
The presentation, open to the public, will conclude a daylong Leadership Culture Camp, according to a school district news release.
The camp will allow participating students in grades four through 12 to share and develop leadership skills, while being challenged to make a difference in their school.
Focus 3 is a business and educational consulting agency firm whose mission, according to its website, is to help companies around the world align the power of leadership, culture and behavior to achieve next-level results.
Focus 3 is based in Dublin, Ohio, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Kight, a nationally recognized expert on leadership, behavior and culture, has recently worked with Urban Meyer and the Ohio State football team as the Buckeyes’ leadership coach. His work with Ohio State has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated and on ESPN.
Kight also is the author of several training programs, including Lead Now, The Power of Culture, Winning, and Attitude Matters.
With his son, Brian, Kight has developed a system known as the R Factor, in which the equation, E + R = O (Event + Response = Outcome), emphasizes the complex variable, “Response” in the behavior of people in different situations, the news release states.
Kight teaches “the physics of leadership,” a specific, systematic combination of interacting behaviors — a proven, permanent structure that works with anyone at any level, according to the news release.
“His mission is to guide organizations like our school district to maximize their potential,” the release states.
