Area residents finish master’s studies
Graduate students in the Global Field Program and Advanced Inquiry Program from Miami Unviersity’s Project Dragonfly finished their master’s studies.
• Rebecca Parkin of Chester Township has been applying the tools of science, education and conservation to become a leader in the conservation community. In mid-December 2017, Parkin was expected to conclude her master’s course of study with a Master of Arts in Biology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly.
Since joining the Advanced Inquiry Program master’s in 2015, Parkin has traveled to Namibia and taken courses on the web from Miami University while also participating in on-site and field studies at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
Parkin works as an outdoor education manager at Lake Metroparks.
The AIP master’s degree is a web-based master’s degree offered by Miami University with experiential learning and community engagement at affiliated AIP Master Institutions in Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, New York, San Diego and Seattle. • Andrew Avram of Mentor has been applying the tools of science, education and conservation to become a leader in the conservation community. In mid-December 2017, Avram was expected to conclude his master’s course of study with a Master of Arts (MA) in Biology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly.

Avram works as an interpretive manager at Lake Metroparks.
