Sheriff’s Office looking for missing WH man

The Sheriff’s Office said it has been searching for 54-year-old Steve Dreyer since the evening of Jan. 8.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing Willoughby Hills man.

The Sheriff’s Office said it has been searching for 54-year-old Steve Dreyer since the evening of Jan. 8. A car owned by Dreyer was found unoccupied with the keys still in the ignition, wallet on the front seat with everything still inside by the caretaker at Perry Township Park at 6 p.m. that day.

The Sheriff’s Office said Dreyer had dropped his son off at school Monday morning, but he did not go to work and never came back to pick up his son at school.

“When investigat­ors checked the camera footage for the park they found that Mr. Dreyer arrived there at 9:25 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies and investigat­ors have searched the area all day Tuesday, using the drone to cover as much area as possible,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “The United States Coast Guard was called in and their Ice Team searched the shoreline. Additional­ly, the US Coast Guard brought their helicopter out of Detroit to search the extended area. As of this point no sign of Mr. Dreyer has been found.”

Dreyer is a 6-foot-1 white male, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Authoritie­s are continuing to search the area.
