Nominations sought for Hall of Fame

The Riverside High School Alumni Association announced it is seeking nominations for the Riverside Hall of Fame which consists of three categories: alumni, athletic, and faculty and staff.

To be eligible for the alumni category, a nominee must have graduated at least 10 years earlier, according to a news release. This person must also meet at least three of the following: show community involvement; show career success and/or make a unique contribution; be a positive role model or a leader in his or her chosen career or elsewhere.

To be eligible for the athletic category, an athlete must have graduated at least 10 years earlier and be a multiple letter winner in one or more sports. A coach is also eligible if he or she served in that capacity for at least 10 years and has retired or left the school system.

A person who has made a significant contribution to the athletic program is also eligible.

Each nominee must meet at least three of the following criteria: placement in state competition, All-American or AllOhio recognition, area allstar teams, newspaper all-stars and all league selections, school and specific sport recognition such as MVP and athlete of the year, athletic achievement on the college, amateur or professional level, coaching achievement, community involvement, successful achievement in his or her chosen profession, and be a positive role model.

A nominee for the faculty and staff category must have been employed by the school system for at least 10 years and must have retired or left the school system. This person must also meet three of the

following criteria: show community involvement, show career success or make a unique contribution, exemplify leadership in and out of school, and be a positive role model.

Thousands of students have graduated and hundreds of employees have retired or left the school system. Many of these people are potential nominees for the Hall of Fame.

Nomination forms are available on the alumni association web site, www.riversidealumni.com. Deadline for nominations for this year is Jan. 31. Nominations received after that date will be considered the following year.
