Fournette uninjured after three-car crash

Jacksonvil­le Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette escaped injury after what authoritie­s say was a minor, three-car crash.

The team said its star running back’s car was rear-ended about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, and that he was not hurt. He was able to drive home after the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Fournette was not at fault in the crash. News agencies report that Fournette was driving his 2017 Mercedes-Benz Maybach S 600. Fournette and the Jaguars play the New England Patriots on Sunday in the AFC Championsh­ip game.

DUFFY PLEADS GUILTY TO DUI » Royals pitcher Danny Duffy has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in a Kansas City suburb and has been placed on a year’s probation.

Sean Reilly, a spokesman for the city of Overland Park, Kansas, said Tuesday that Duffy entered the plea last week and will pay $1,220 in fines and court fees. Duffy must report to a probation officer once a month and abstain from drugs and alcohol. He also will be subject to random breath, urine or blood screenings.

Royals spokesman Mike Swanson said the plea is a matter between Duffy, his representa­tives and the city.

RONALDINHO RETIRES » The brother and agent of 2005 Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldinho says the former Brazil and Barcelona playmaker has retired from football. Roberto Assis told Brazilian outlets on Tuesday that his brother’s career as a profession­al footballer “is over.” Assis said that farewell matches are likely to be scheduled after the World Cup in Russia.

JO JO WHITE DIES » Basketball Hall of Famer Jo Jo White, a two-time NBA champion with the Boston Celtics and an Olympic gold medalist, has died. He was 71.

The Celtics announced his death Tuesday night. No cause was provided.

The team says it is “terribly saddened” by White’s passing, calling him a “champion and a gentleman.”
