Trio face charges of drug trafficking
Three Lake County residents arrested Jan. 16 following a traffic stop in Fairport Harbor Village are accused of possessing marijuana and numerous products produced from it police allege were bound for sale, Painesville Municipal Court records show.
Arrested were Madison Village resident Bryan J. Lakatos, 23, of 175 E. Parkway Blvd.; and Mentor residents Nicholas S. Sobonya, 30, of 7301 Andover Drive; and Kaitlin M. Tichenor, 26, of 7118 Farnham Drive.
Each defendant faces one third-degree felony drug trafficking count after police say they were in possession of more than the bulk amount of unprocessed marijuana, along with liquids, oils, edibles, dab powder and dab wax.
According to their respective files, Lakatos also is charged with misdemeanor traffic counts, including a stop-sign offense and no license plate light; and a minor misdemeanor drug-paraphernalia possession count.
He’s being held on a $50,000/10 percent cash or surety bond.
Sobonya faces a minor misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge and is being held on a $50,000/10 percent cash or surety bond; and Tichenor, who also is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor charge of possessing dangerous drugs (Suboxone and buprenorphine), is being held on a $20,000/10 percent cash or surety bond.
They each face up to three years behind bars if convicted of the felony charge. All are scheduled to appear for their pretrial/preliminary hearings on Jan, 23, their files confirm.
