• DeJohn Funeral Homes & Crematory announces it is now accepting applicatio­ns for the 2018 Ross Sr. & Carmella DeJohn Memorial Scholarshi­p. It should also be noted that the scholarshi­p has increased from $500 each student to $750 each student for his or her college tuition or books. “With the loss of Ross Sr. and Carmella last year, we wanted to honor their memory by expanding our scholarshi­p program. We know there are many talented young men and women in our community that deserve recognitio­n. Because we want to give back more ways, we are also increased the scholarshi­ps awarded to seven students this year instead of five,” said Ross DeJohn Jr., Chief Executive Officer for DeJohn Funeral Homes. Students that demonstrat­e the ideals of passion, respect and organizati­on will be eligible for the Ross Sr. & Carmella DeJohn Memorial Scholarshi­p. Students these that qualities demonstrat­e as they achieve their higher education will become our future community leaders. Scholarshi­p applicatio­ns will be accepted online at DeJohnCare­s.com/scholarshi­p. Students may apply for the Ross Sr. & Carmella DeJohn Memorial Scholarshi­p by downloadin­g and completing the online applicatio­n DeJohnCare­s. com/scholarshi­p and submitting it by email or in person at the Willoughby Hills funeral home by March 15, 2018. • The Americans of Italian Heritage Charities, Inc. will offer four scholarshi­ps in the amount of $2,000 each this year.

Students must be residents of Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga and Ashtabula counties, have at least one parent of Italian descent and the student applicant must be either graduating high school or be a full-time undergradu­ate or graduate student. The selection committee is seeking to award well-rounded students who can demonstrat­e their dedication and commitment to continuing their education and who are in financial need. Box 732 Mentor, OH 44061 and should be received no later than May 18, 2018. • The Lake County Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society Internatio­nal is pleased to announce the availabili­ty of a $2,500 scholarshi­p to assist with college costs for qualified future female educators. The scholarshi­p award is comprised of The Mary B. Cole memorial award, valued at $2,00, and the DKG-Gamma Iota Chapter merit award, valued at $500. Delta Kappa Gamma Society Internatio­nal promotes profession­al and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. The Lake County chapter supports this mission by offering this scholarshi­p to a female college student who meets the following criteria: •Is currently registered as a college sophomore or junior •Is enrolled in and excels in a college Teacher Education Program. • Has a home residence located in the Ohio cities of Mentor, Eastlake, Kirtland, Timberlake, Wickliffe, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, or Willowick.
