Scholarships available

• The Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce invites high school seniors residing in the Chardon Local School District to apply for a $1,000 college scholarship.

The Chamber scholarship is awarded annually to a well-rounded student based on school and extracurricular activities, community involvement, academic achievement and personal goals. It is funded by Chamber member donations and participation in Chamber activities throughout the year.

The scholarship will be presented to the winner at the Chamber’s March 13 Annual Meeting. The deadline to apply is Feb.16.

• The Americans of Italian Heritage Charities, Inc. will offer four scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each this year.

Students must be residents of Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga and Ashtabula counties, have at least one parent of Italian descent and the student applicant must be either graduating high school or be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. The selection committee is seeking to award well-rounded students who can demonstrate their dedication and commitment to continuing their education and who are in financial need.
