Man arraigned on firearms charges

A 29-year-old Cleveland man with a prior conviction preventing him from legally possessing a firearm was arraigned Feb. 12 in Willoughby Municipal Court following his Feb. 11 arrest by Wickliffe police, court records show.

James D. Holder III, whose address is listed as 2484 E. 84th St., is charged with third-degree felony having weapons under disability.

He also faces one fourth-degree felony count each of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property, along with one minor misdemeano­r count each of marijuana possession and open container.

If convicted of the three felony charges alone, Holder could get up to six years behind bars.

His bond was set at $10,000/10 percent and he’s scheduled for a pretrial/preliminar­y hearing Feb. 15, his arraignmen­t file confirms.
