Man ar­raigned on firearms charges

A 29-year-old Cleve­land man with a prior con­vic­tion prevent­ing him from legally pos­sess­ing a firearm was ar­raigned Feb. 12 in Wil­loughby Mu­nic­i­pal Court fol­low­ing his Feb. 11 ar­rest by Wick­liffe po­lice, court records show.

James D. Holder III, whose ad­dress is listed as 2484 E. 84th St., is charged with third-de­gree felony hav­ing weapons un­der dis­abil­ity.

He also faces one fourth-de­gree felony count each of im­proper han­dling of a firearm in a mo­tor ve­hi­cle and re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty, along with one mi­nor mis­de­meanor count each of mar­i­juana pos­ses­sion and open con­tainer.

If con­victed of the three felony charges alone, Holder could get up to six years be­hind bars.

His bond was set at $10,000/10 per­cent and he’s sched­uled for a pre­trial/pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing Feb. 15, his ar­raign­ment file con­firms.
