Recognizing good work of caregivers

For seniors aging in place, the presence of a good caregiver can provide comfort and create smiles during difficult times.

It can result in improved attitude and, ultimately, better health outcomes.

About 10,000 baby boomers are turning 65 every day, according to the Pew Research Center (U.S. Population Projections: 2005-2050).

With a growing number of seniors opting to stay in their homes, that’s going to create a need for 630,000 more home care aide jobs by 2024, which far outstrips the number of professionals available to fill them, according to consulting firm PHI.

On Feb. 16, National Caregivers Day, Griswold Home Care Lake-Geauga saluted the dedicated professionals who provide vital in-home services to those who need them the most. They have chosen a profession of long days that requires a tireless and selfless approach. Nonetheless, they deliver quality, compassionate care with good cheer every day.

To mark the occasion and support the important work caregivers do, Griswold Home Care launched a website dedicated to professional and family caregivers, CaregiverResource.com.

This website provides the whos, whats, whys and hows of caregiving as well as advice by our award-winning, 35-year caregiver, Allegra Chaney.

Caregiving is a noble endeavor. Those delivering care deserve the same dignity and respect they bestow on their clients and loved ones.
