Geauga Park District sets van trips
Geauga Park District has announced the next two van trips in which a naturalist will guide attendees to nature spots outside of the county parks.
“Herons of Bath Road Van Trip” will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 7. Participants can search for birds and explore the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Beaver Marsh and Bath Road Heronry on this trip, which includes at least a mile walk on a flat, gravel surface.
Then, the “Magee Marsh Birding Van Trip” will take place from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 7.
There is a fee for this trip — $10 or $25 for outof-county residents. Participants will journey to one of the best bird-watching spots in the country to witness the spring spectacle of bird migration along the shores of Lake Erie, according to a news release.
Registration is required at 440-286-9516 or www. geaugaparkdistrict.org for the expeditions, which both start from The West Woods and are not wheelchair/stroller accessible. Attendees should pack a lunch and water, plus a camera and binoculars.
