Local students named BW ambassadors
Students from the area were appointed student ambassadors at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2018 semester.
BW Student Ambassadors is a student organization that fosters relationships between BW alumni and the University.
Ambassadors undergo a competitive selection process with finalists invited to the home of BW President Bob and Linda Helmer for a group interview.
The following local students were among the 17 appointees:
• Terrell Mitchell of Cleveland, a graduate of Benedictine High School majoring in computer information systems.
• Hope Sloop of Willoughby, a graduate of North High School majoring in broadcasting and mass communication.
For over 20 years, the BW Student Ambassadors organization has encouraged high-level volunteerism and service to the University as well as advanced professional and personal development training for its members. Ambassadors assist a variety of groups across campus with events such as Homecoming, Community and Family Day, the Athletic Hall of Fame and Alumni Encore.
Their first major event will be the 50th reunion of BW’s Class of 1968. They also provide assistance to BW’s Center for Philanthropy, helping to meet with donors and to assist in raising valuable scholarship dollars.
In addition to working events, members have numerous opportunities to learn interviewing, leadership and networking skills.
