He is a U.S. Army veteran and has worked in three other National Park Service units before coming to Northeast Ohio in 2009 as the Garfield site’s chief of interpretation and education. He was elevated to site manager in 2015.

“We have a warm and strong relationship with Todd Arrington and the Garfield site,” Lake View CEO Katharine Goss said in the release. “As one of three historic sites in Northeast Ohio honoring the 20th president of the United States, Lake View Cemetery is very pleased to have Dr. Arrington represent the National Park Service and James A. Garfield National Historic Site at our Memorial Day service.”

“To be asked to honor not only President Garfield, but also the brave men and women that have died serving America, is truly a career highlight for me,” Arrington said in the release. “I look forward to being at Lake View Cemetery on Memorial Day.”

The ceremony is free of charge and open to the public. It is held on the lawn in front of the Garfield Memorial, the final resting place of Garfield and wife, Lucretia. Approximately 600 to 800 people normally attend the ceremony at the cemetery, 12316 Euclid Ave., the release stated.
