Trick-or-treat street to be held for kids by area businesses

Eastlake and Willowick will be holding a trick-or-treat event along the Vine Street corridor on June 16.

The event runs from 3 to 5 p.m. and will feature approximat­ely 35 business along the section of the street that runs between Bethel

Lutheran Church at 32410 Willowick Drive in Willowick and Two Bucks at 35400 Vine St. in Eastlake.

Kids are encouraged to dress in costumes at the event that will include a costume contest where kids will randomly be awarded gift cards from area businesses for their costumes. Additional­ly there will also be a random costume contest for dogs/ puppies during the event.

A Halloween-themed

lunch will be served at Severino’s, 35125 Vine St., and an award will be given for the best decorated business.

Bethel Lutheran Church will be participat­ing with a “trunk or treat” and Walmart will have candy stations for kids in costumes throughout the store.

“Trick or treat street is an idea that came from the Vine Street Corridor Business Owners meetings and Eastlake Economic Community Developmen­t Committee to help showcase the businesses on Vine Street and introduce

their unique products and services to more people,” Eastlake Councilman Michael Zuren said.

Zuren noted that this event is in conjunctio­n with the Lake County Captains baseball game, which starts at 7 p.m.
