Police looking for burglary suspects

- Staff report

Euclid police are searching for two suspects who caused a SWAT situation in the city June 3.

According to police, the department responded to an aggravated burglary in process at 1:15 p.m. that day on East 204th Street.

Police said the residents had been surprised inside the home by two men, one of whom had a gun. The residents were able to safely flee to a neighbor’s house and call police.

Believing the suspects were still inside, officers surrounded the home and the EDGE SWAT team was called. The unit cleared the home, but the suspects were no longer inside. A handgun was recovered at the scene. No one was hurt during the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Euclid police detective bureau at 216-289-8505.

The June 3 incident is the second SWAT situation

Euclid police have dealt with this month.

On June 1, officers attempted to arrest 39-yearold Damon Crim on kidnapping and felonious assault warrants.

Crim was armed with a shotgun and barricaded himself in his home at 454 E. 250th St.

Crim refused to come out of the house after several hours of negotiation, and the EDGE SWAT team was called. Crim surrendered peacefully after officers deployed tear gas into the home. He suffered two minor cuts from broken glass. A shotgun was recovered from the house.
