Fly-in features planes, wheels, food
The Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 5, based at Geauga County Airport, will be having the “First Fly-in of Summer, A Wings and Wheels Event” from 7 to 11 a.m., June 23.
The morning features a pancake breakfast consisting of all-you-can-eat pancakes, Geauga County Maple Syrup, choice of bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs, and a variety of drinks.
Cost for adults is $ 7 and $3 for children ages 3 to 11. Those under $3 are admitted for free. The proceeds from the breakfast go to EAA Chapter 5.
The event is centered around free airplane rides for youths ages 8-17 as part of the EAA Young Eagles Program and will feature other youth activities such as aviation-related games and crafts.
Organizers are also inviting various car groups and expect to have vintage and show cars and airplanes available for the public to see up close.
All is weather permitting. Readers should bring lawn chairs and be prepared for the weather.
Adult students can visit Tri-C buildings
The public is invited to learn about the academic and career training opportunities available at Cuyahoga Community College during “Adult Student Visit Nights” at its college sites during the last week of June.
The free event offers a one-stop shop for nontraditional students interested in pursuing a degree or professional certification to improve their career outlook and future, according to a news release.
The event will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m., June 25, at Corporate College West, 25425 Center Ridge Road in Westlake; 5:30-7:30 p.m., June 27, at the Eastern Campus, 4250 Richmond Road in Highland Hills; and at other Tri-C sites.
