• A three-run third inning sunk Triple-A Columbus (35-36) against Gwinnett in Game 1 of a doublehead­er as the Clippers lost, 5-1 — the lone run coming off an Adam Rosales home run in the second inning. Gwinnett tied the game, 1-1, in the home half of the second before adding four more runs over the next two innings. Francisco Mejia had a pair of hits, including a double, and Greg Allen, Yu Chang and Eric Stamets each added a hit. Robert Zarate (1-1) was charged with the loss. He lasted one inning, allowing two hits, three runs (all earned), one walk and one strikeout. In Game 2, The Clippers were shut out, 5-0. • Harrisburg scored two runs in the eighth inning to beat Double-A Akron, 5-4. The RubberDuck­s were out-hit, 8-5. • Single-A Lynchburg’s (30-38) game against Myrtle Beach was postponed due to rain. • Short-season Single-A Mahoning Valley used 15 hits, including six extrabase hits, to beat Auburn, 10-7. The Scrappers had multi-hit games from Tyler Freeman (3), Hosea Nelson (3), Clark Scolamiero (2), Elvis Perez (2) and Angel Lopez Alvarez (2). • The DSL Indians (10-8) scored three runs in the ninth inning to beat the DSL Pirates, 3-1. Jhonkensy Noel, Cesar Idrogo and Skeiling Rodriguez each had RBI singles in the ninth, and Idrogo and Jose Tena had the only multi-hit games with two of the team’s eight hits apiece, including a triple from Tena. Jose Oca (2-0) got the win, throwing five innings and allowing two hits and one walk while recording a pair of strikeouts. Jerson Ramirez earned the save.
