Where’s outrage for American children?

-

I am writing in response to the media frenzy over the separation of children from their parents attempting to enter the U.S. illegally.

Their parents broke the law and are being treated the same as American parents who end up in jail.

However, American children are being locked in institutions every day in this nation because American extended families are being treated horribly and ignored.

How about launching a media frenzy for those children?

Time to end the secrecy in our children’s systems.

Time to end the exploitation of children to fill the pockets of so called service systems.

Time to respect the human rights and the 14th amendment rights of American children.

Where is the outrage over what is happening to American children who have family that want to care for them.

They are often shut out and silenced by people who aren’t even qualified to make decisions like that. Yes, even judges. What about law school qualifies any lawyer/judge to make such decisions?

Nationwide, we should have an unambiguous checklist system for guardian ad litems.

Nationwide we should demand that welfare agencies go deep into the family tree to seek out relatives of children who will care for them. Most would do it for free! Because it is their kin.

What about sending those kids back to their nations to extended family? What about sending them home immediately, all together? Robin Neff Chardon
