The rally was not quite enough as the Cavaliers dropped to 1-1 in Summer League action via a 86-81 loss against Chicago on July 7.

Trailing by eight at halftime, the Cavs outscored the Bulls, 4239, in the second half, but could not close the game out in the final moments.

Leading Cleveland was Ante Zizic who posted a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Collin Sexton added 14 points.

Cedi Osman was given the night off to rest.

OVECHKIN BRINGS STANLEY CUP TO WORLD CUP » Alex Ovechkin has brought the Stanley Cup to the World Cup.

The Washington Capitals captain took the NHL trophy to a fan zone in Moscow where World Cup games are screened. With the Russian National Guard providing security, Ovechkin lifted the cup above his head in front of a crowd of fans, who were allowed to take photos with the trophy.

“The cup is with us. The cup is in Moscow, Russia,” Ovechkin said. “I am very happy for the people that can see it and touch it. I am very, very happy.”

VARNER, KRAFT LEAD AT GREENBRIER » Harold Varner shot a 4-under 66 Saturday to tie second-round leader Kelly Kraft at the top entering the final round of A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier in West Virginia.

Varner had four backnine birdies after 10 consecutiv­e pars. Kraft led by as many as four strokes but bogeyed two of the final three holes and shot 1-under 69.

Both were at 14-under 196.
