Lake County tops Chiefs for its win fourth in a row

DH Jose Vicente hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, and the Captains won their fourth in a row, 5-1 over host Peoria on July 11.

Will Benson also homered for Lake County (39-51), which has a Midwest League-best 78 roundtrippers as a team. Benson also had an RBI single.

Francisco Perez (7-5) went seven innings. He struck out two and didn’t walk a batter.

The series continues at 8 p.m. July 12 at Peoria.
